MAUNA

A small yoga studio in Boudha, Kathmandu.

Nothing here needs to be conquered.

Vinyasa, yin, restorative and breathwork, taught by four people in three quiet rooms above a paper shop in Boudha. Come once and see.

Why we are quiet about it

There is no leaderboard on this floor.

Most rooms that ask you to move also ask you to compete — with the person on the next mat, with a number, with the version of yourself from last week. We took all of that out and found there was still plenty left.

What remains is an hour, a teacher who knows your name, and permission to do less than you can. Some mornings that means a full practice. Some mornings it means lying on the floor with your eyes shut while the light moves across it. Both count.

You are allowed to arrive tired and leave tired. That is still a practice.
