Anisha wrote a masters thesis on Newar guild architecture and then spent a decade discovering that almost nobody wants a lecture. What they want is to be walked into a courtyard they would never have found and told, in two sentences, why it looks the way it does.

Aroha's Kathmandu food walk and the Mustang village journey are both hers. She built the Mustang route around three families she has known since 2019, so the meals on that trip are not staged for visitors — they are what those households eat.

She will always find the vegetarian option, and she will always tell you when the tourist version of a dish is worse than the one two streets away.

A monastery is not a museum. If you can hear someone cooking behind the shrine, that is the interesting part.
