Khumbu is the valley that turned Nepal into a trekking country, and it has earned every visitor it gets. Above Namche the trail opens into a corridor of six-thousanders — Thamserku, Kangtega, Ama Dablam — before the moraine takes over and colour drains out of the landscape entirely.
It is also the busiest region in the country, which is exactly why our routes here are built around avoiding the crowd: earlier starts, side valleys such as Gokyo and Phortse, and lodges owned by families our guides have worked with for years.
