Planned a Small Magellanic Cloud session; spent most of it forty arcminutes away on 47 Tucanae instead, as usual.
The SMC is scientifically the more interesting object and visually the lesser one — a soft irregular glow that rewards patience. 47 Tuc is a globular so bright and so resolved at 610 mm that people audibly react. Both are in the same low-power field, so the choice makes itself.
Noted for the target lists: put the SMC first, while the group is still willing.
