Our Story
Three centuries.
One house. Your day.
Evermore Estate has been welcoming people in moments of joy since 1742. We are proud to continue that tradition with the weddings we host today.
Our philosophy
We believe every wedding should feel like it couldn't have happened anywhere else.
We don't have a house style. We don't have a preferred caterer or a standard floristry package. What we have is a remarkable estate, a skilled and deeply experienced team, and a genuine commitment to understanding what matters most to each couple we work with.
Over thirty years of weddings at Evermore, we've seen every type of celebration — and we've learned that the finest days are the ones where the couple feels completely, entirely at home. Where the day reflects who they are, not what a wedding is supposed to look like.
That's what we set out to create, every time.
History
Three hundred years in the making.
The original manor house is built by Sir Edmund Veysey, a Sussex landowner with a penchant for Italian architecture.
The estate is purchased by the Crane family, who commission landscape architect Thomas Peel to redesign the gardens, add the walled kitchen garden, and construct the Victorian Orangery.
The estate serves as a convalescent home for officers. The garden walls are still marked with the initials of those who passed through.
The Crane family donate the estate to a charitable trust dedicated to its preservation.
The first wedding is held at Evermore Estate — a small ceremony in the Orangery for thirty guests.
Victoria Ashford establishes Evermore Weddings and begins offering full planning packages alongside venue hire.
Over three hundred weddings celebrated. The estate has been recognised by Brides, Tatler, and The Times as one of Britain's finest wedding venues.
The Team
The people behind your day.
We are a small, experienced team who care deeply about what we do. You'll get to know us well before your wedding day — that's entirely by design.
Victoria Ashford
Director & Head Planner
Victoria founded Evermore Weddings in 2007 after ten years in luxury event management. She has personally overseen more than two hundred weddings and brings an unmatched combination of warmth and precision to every celebration.
James Trevelyan
Estate Manager
James has managed the Evermore Estate for fifteen years, overseeing everything from the gardens to the Great Hall. His intimate knowledge of every corner of the estate — and every quirk of the Sussex weather — is invaluable.
Sophie Crane
Senior Wedding Coordinator
Sophie joined Evermore in 2019 after coordinating weddings across Europe. Detail-obsessed and warm-hearted, she is the person your guests will remember long after the last dance.
Oliver Gent
Head of Florals
Oliver leads our in-house floristry team, sourcing from the estate's own cutting garden and a network of British growers. His arrangements are romantic, seasonal, and never from a template.
Come and meet us.
The best way to understand what we do is to walk through the estate with us. We'd love to meet you.
