The artist

Sound you can see

TIMBRE is the recording project of a producer and singer who started uploading bedroom demos at four in the morning and never quite stopped. What began as a way to make sense of a sleepless year became a body of work about distance, memory, and the strange comfort of sending sound out into the dark and hoping it reaches someone.

The music sits between electronic and song — built from re-pitched voices, synthesised breath and drum machines run through old amps, but anchored, always, to a melody you can hum. The signature is an obsession with texture: with the grain of a sound, the timbre of it, the thing that makes one voice unmistakably itself.

Across a debut single, an EP and two albums, TIMBRE has grown from a few thousand late-night listeners into a touring act that fills theatres — without ever leaving the intimacy that made the first song land. The new album, Signal Fires, is the fullest realisation of that idea yet: a record meant to be heard loud, in the dark, with someone.
