Day by day
Bergen — Embarkation
Board MS Kestrel at Bryggen Quay in the late afternoon. A welcome dinner sails with the tide as the wharf's colored gables fall astern.
Sognefjord — Cruising
A full day inside Norway's longest fjord. Zodiacs launch mid-morning for a landing near a working goat farm; the afternoon is open water and open sky.
Ålesund
A morning walk through the Art Nouveau port, rebuilt in stone and turrets after an 1904 fire. Afternoon free to climb Aksla for the harbor view.
Geirangerfjord
The signature fjord: waterfalls with names — the Seven Sisters, the Suitor — falling directly into water so still it mirrors them. A slow, near-silent transit.
At sea — Norwegian Sea
A crossing day north along the coast. Expect white-tailed eagles, the occasional pod of orca, and a lecture on the Gulf Stream from the expedition team.
Vesterålen — Landing
A zodiac landing on a headland with nothing on it but wind and sea eagles. Afternoon coastal hike, weather permitting, led by the expedition leader.
Tromsø — Disembarkation
Arrival in the Arctic gateway before breakfast. Farewell brunch, then disembarkation with a full day to explore before onward travel.
