The story
Tom Reyes mills his own lumber from trees that come down in New England storms — oak, walnut, cherry that would otherwise be cordwood. He lets the boards air-dry for two years in a barn loft before they ever meet a plane.
Grainwright pieces are finished with nothing but food-safe oil and wax, because a board should age in your kitchen, not arrive pretending it already has. Tom signs the underside of every one with a small branded mark.
In the studio
Hand-planed, then finished with a blend of raw tung oil and beeswax. Re-oil twice a year and the grain only deepens.
