A small studio in Copenhagen, working in volume and plain cloth
SILKE is a Copenhagen atelier working in sculptural volume and plain cloth — dresses, knitwear and outerwear made in small series, cut to be worn for a long time.

How it is made
Every season begins with the cloth. Patterns are drafted around what the fabric will actually do, which is why the dresses are built from panels rather than darts — a dart would fight the volume the cloth wants to hold.
Cloth is milled in Italy and Portugal, knitwear is made in Scotland, and cutting, fitting and finishing happen in the Copenhagen studio. Series are small, usually between forty and a hundred and twenty pieces.
