Brew Guide

French Press

Full body, full immersion.

beginner

The French Press is the most immersive brew method — coffee steeps fully in hot water before being separated by the plunger's metal mesh filter. The result is a rich, textured cup with oils and body that paper filters remove.

Pro Tips

  • Pour immediately after pressing — leaving coffee in contact with grounds over-extracts and turns bitter.
  • A coarser grind prevents excessive fine particles from passing through the mesh.
  • Skimming the crust before pressing produces a cleaner cup.
  • Try a 4-minute steep for light roasts, 3:30 for medium and dark.
